Meet Oxonians Nick and Jack Brown, our March Pet Family of the Month!Nick came to the ‘big city’ of Oxford from Forest, Mississippi to attend Ole Miss, settling in Oxford after law school. Interested in expanding the family, Nick contemplated blondes and readheads. Ready to do some speed dating, Nick was overwhelmed by more than a dozen candidates, both blondes and redheads – from two beautiful Golden Retriever litters. On his way out, unable to choose between so many cute pups, Nick noticed one little guy had escaped from the pack, making it clear he was choosing Nick. Even though the little red pup may have done the ‘picking’, Nick officially christened the handsome boy as ‘Jack’s Pix’ combining a play on words with his own childhood nickname, Pix. Called simply ‘Jack’, this little gentleman came to the family home having already mastered the doggie door at only eight weeks old. Despite these well bred manners, gentleman Jack can still flat out decimate a new toy by ripping out the squeaker and removing the eyeballs with surgical precision after only a short prance around the house showing it off. Jack also loves his time outdoors and shares a play date most days with his canine bestie who lives right next door. They are truly a devoted pair of pals. Whether playing next door or taking a dream filled nap at home, this handsome boy – with the almost human personality according to his doggie Dad Nick – has an uncanny ability to know when Nick is on his way home and is always waiting by the door to enthusiastically welcome him home. Man’s best friend, indeed.
