Riki Roederer moved to Oxford at the age of ten. She has always had compassion for animals. At age 12 she went on a volunteer trip to assist a veterinary hospital on Isla Mujeres in Mexico, and has continued helping all kinds of animals in need. At 16, Riki joined a local volunteer team that went to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to help rescue the many animals in need.
Upon graduating high school she had the opportunity to travel to Tanzania, East Africa for a photographic safari. Throughout her high school years Riki regularly volunteered at the Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society resulting in countless foster animals to which she has opened her home and heart. upon her return from Africa, she was offered and accepted a full time position with the Humane Society. A position she held for the next four years.
Riki currently lives in Oxford with three dogs of her own; YaYa, Riley and Chevy. Riki is happy to be helping Oxford’s furry residents feel comfortable and safe in their own homes while their “parents” are away, and give them the love and care they deserve.
