Savannah is currently attending the University of Mississippi studying Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Homeland Security. Through this degree she hopes to one day to work at a federal agency alongside a K-9 unit specializing in search and rescue or drug seizure.
Her love of animals has been strong for as long as she can remember. Growing up she was constantly surrounded by furry friends on my grandparents farm. On her 8th birthday she received the best gift to date, a spunky three month old beagle puppy. Her name was Cricket and they were inseparable for 13 amazing years. Even though she recently crossed the rainbow bridge, she will always hold a special place in her heart and be her one true love. Savannah currently lives with a scruffy blonde mutt named Ollie she rescued as a young puppy, and a silly cat named Rascal. This love of all animals has forever changed her and she knows her future will involve animals in some way, shape, or form.
Savannah comes to Homeward Bound with a strong background in animal care. She worked as a kennel tech at Ivy Hill Animal Hospital in her hometown in Georgia, for four years before coming to us. She started as a kennel tech but quickly move to a position as a veterinary assistant working closely with the veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Not only did she gain a vast amount of knowledge caring for animals while their parents were away, she gain a strong background in the veterinary hospital environment and the medical side of the animal care industry. She hopes this paired with her love of furry four legged friends will lead to a long, happy and satisfying experience working with Homeward Bound. And she can’t wait to meet many more awesome pets along the way too.
