Meet the most adorable French bulldog on the planet, Deuce Beyers! Deuce got his name from his parent’s love of athletics; a sporty combination of Deuce McAlister and the tennis score, ‘deuce’. Everyone knows a pup is ‘man’s best friend’, and the Beyers know Frenchies are also the best companions. Their upright ears make them excellent listeners and they are the perfect adorable little pup package!
Mark, born and raised in Tilburg, Holland moved to the states at the age of 17, after receiving a tennis scholarship from Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia. He relocated to Oxford in 1995, where he became the assistant coach of the men’s tennis team and was ranked as one of the country’s top assistant coaches. He then became head coach for the women’s program, and consistently led the team to success. Lauren, from Houston, TX moved to Oxford after being recruited to play volleyball for the Rebels and is currently the Director of Research and Prospect Development at the University. She and Mark met at Ole Miss and married in the summer of 2005.
Their little man Deuce keeps them busy and keeps their days full of laughter. This little pup is full of personality and has the most unique facial expressions. French bulldogs are typically known to be a quieter breed, with very little barking. That is unless there is cause for excitement, and when it comes to Deuce, that means FOOD! Deuce has a funny habit of running all around the house and barking when his food bowl is being prepared. Is he celebrating or is he afraid someone will take it from him!?
When sweet Deuce isn’t performing a little number for his dinner, he loves going for strolls around the square with his parents. They love stopping for a warm cup of coffee at Bottletree Bakery and making the rounds, while Deuce steals the heart of every passersby-er. He’s impossible to resist! Please join us in celebration of this sweet family and thanking them for sharing so many laughs and memories with us. Happy New Year!
