October’s featured Pet Family family, the Webb/ Servati family has nothing spooky about them. In our eyes they are absolute perfection! Catherine and Taylor have been parents to 2 precious doodles or
“dood” babies Henry and Murray and will welcome their first human child to the family in January 2020! This will be a new beginning for the family after the unexpected loss of Henry, age 7, to cancer in January of this year. No one can prepare for the loss of a family member, but it’s always that much harder when taken so young. He is, and will always remain, their first child in their hearts. Their bubbly golden doodle Murray, 2 years, will now take on the role of big brother and by all counts be the most enthusiastic and helpful big brother ever! Both named after older, wiser men. Henry’s full name was Henry David Thoreau Servati and Murray’s is Bill Murray Webb.
Catherine and Taylor both grew up in Tupelo but did not meet one another until college. They both attended Ole Miss for undergrad and law school. They love everything that Oxford has to offer – from amazing restaurants, to great concerts, book readings, and special events on campus and, of course, Ole Miss sports. They have been married for 2 years and had several mutual friends throughout college and law school. They connected when Catherine accepted a job at Taylor’s dad’s law firm in Tupelo following law school. She worked there for 3 years before moving to Oxford, and they married less than a year later.
Oh, Henry… what can one say about such a perfect friend! He was everything, including a great traveling companion. Henry once drove cross-county with Catherine for a semester in San Francisco during law school. He was such a faithful friend; although he didn’t’ care for playing with other dogs too much and was mildly annoyed by Murry but would always give in to the chase. He might have been reluctant at first during his Spaw visits, but it never took him long to adapt to the luxury and pampering of the experience 😉 He was a truly special, loyal, loving guy that is missed every day.
After Henry passed, Murray absorbed all of their sadness, love, and affection and is positively spoiled rotten. Murray is Catherine’s shadow and can always be found glued to her side or just a few steps behind. Waking up early on a Saturday morning and walking through campus and to the square for a Bottletree breakfast is one of their favorite activities. He is such a joy, and it is impossible to have a bad day when he is around. When not in Oxford, Murray takes an excursion to a small lake in Tupelo where Taylor’s parents reside, and he runs and swims all day.
Murray’s favorite toy is a giant golden retriever stuffed animal, otherwise known as his “brother.” Murray will haul his brother out of the toy basket and drag it around the house with him. Hopefully he won’t treat his new sibling like that. Just kidding, he never would 😉
Best of wishes to this family and their new family member coming in January!
