Meet the Whitwell Family: Quentin, Ginger and their three children Davis (18), college freshman, Gordon (16), high school freshman, and Sterling (10), King Charles Cavalier Spaniel and pursuer of all things delicious. Quentin and Ginger met as Freshmen at Ole Miss and have been together since that fateful encounter, and now have been married for 21 years!
Growing up with a Springer Spaniel, Ginger thought spaniels were the best dogs ever. As soon as she graduated from college, she drove to Chattanooga and got her first very own Springer and named him Reagan. He was the sweetest, and quite possibly the most spoiled fur-baby of all time. A few years later, while Ginger and Quentin were moving, Reagan got to take vacation to his grandparents’ house. He stayed a few days longer than expected and Ginger’s mom got too attached. It was decided that Reagan would stay at his grandma’s… and so he settled into his new digs.
After 4-5 months of marriage, Ginger finally convinced Quentin to get another Springer. They drove to Chattanooga and picked out the biggest, fattest baby of the litter and named him Churchill. Churchill was regal and cool. Only 11 years later, he welcomed Sterling into the family and teach him everything he knew about being cool and independent. In no time, Churchill and Sterling were best buds, and were frequently found cruising the neighborhood together without their parents.
These days, you will undoubtedly find Sterling hanging around downtown by the best smelling restaurants hoping to score a snack at the very least. A favorite local haunt is Handy Andy; which Sterling deems to have some of the best scents in town. On a few occasions at the Spaw, he has sniffed out staff snacks. He actually climbed (literally) on the desk to get his paws on a sandwich (vegetarian of course) and paired it with some chips! Who knew a day full of pampering could work up such an appetite?! His favorite vacation spot ever taken was to Delray Beach, FL where there were many pet friendly restaurants… some were even al fresco. This boy has quite the distinguished palate, both for fine dining and fine-pampering.
